Janmashtami is celebrated to mark the birthday of Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu. As a poornavatara – or embodiment of eternal completion – Lord Krishna has multiple dimensions through which devotees can relate to him. Lord Krishna was famous for his many leela’s, or divine pastime’s, that allowed people to relate with his many dimensions of divinity.
On this day we celebrate his many dimensions including that of a mischievous child, a divine romantic, a brave warrior and a teacher of divine wisdom. In whatever dimension a devotee relates with him, Lord Krishna is sure to reciprocate your devotion in the same way.
